Smith7 exists to help people. Smith7 Records exists to help musicians and music fans. Since we were born in 2000, Smith7 has raised over $5,000 for charities and people in need. That includes the help of everyone who puts on the shows, plays at the shows, promotes, makes flyers, passes out flyers, or pays to get into the shows. That means that in some small or for a lot of you large way, you are doing charity work, helping out others by just supporting your friends. That is what Smith7 strives for. No one has ever earned a penny from their work for Smith7. When bands’ merchandise is sold, the money pays back what is needed to Smith7 to break even, then the band earns profit on their product. We are a non-profit record label attempting to keep our motives pure and selfless. This organization has brought me closer to a number of amazing people and afforded me chances to make the world happier in ways I never imagined. Everyone who works within Smith7 is working to make people happier and give people a chance to do what they’d really like to with their lives. Many of us were raised to believe that what we “want to be when we grow up” has to be available at a job fair. You can’t be a musician unless you pay someone to get your music on the radio. You can’t be an artist unless you have the national media’s attention. You can’t be a writer unless you get published. We’d like to give you the chance to read what some of our friends have to offer. Some of it may be deemed vulgar, but we hope that no one gets offended by it. I have spent most of the last 5 years of my life trying to give people more opportunities, if you have ideas on how to help please let us know.
