Here’s my top 10 most anticipated movies of 2006 with a few

reasons I’m excited about them:
1. The Departed (Scorsese back to gangs, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen)
2. Superman Returns (my favorite franchise, Bryan Singer)
3. Grind House (Tarantino doing a slasher movie, Robert Rodriguez, rad concept)
4. Flags of Our Fathers (Clint Eastwood)
5. Zodiac (fucking awesome David Fincher finally doing something, serial
killers)
6. Sin City 2 (more of this great great thing, Robert Rodriguez)
7. Die Hard 4.0 (John McClane getting in more trouble, Justin Timberlake)
8. Casino Royale (a new Bond who I really like and approve of, illegal gambling,
brothels, first book in the series)
9.  Idiocracy (Mike Judge of Office Space fame finally doing another movie,
filmed in Austin)
10. Mission Impossible 3 (Phillip Seymour Hoffman being scary, Tom Cruise)

As I was reading down the list, I got fucking excited about how many more
computer animated movies are coming out in 2006 than in previous years. They
all look pretty cool, some more than others. So I’m going to rank these movies
from 1 to 9 in the order of my excitement as well:
1. Monster House (exec. Produced by Speilberg & Zemekis, Maggie Gyllenhaal, THIS
LOOKS AMAZING!)
2. Beowulf & Grendel (Robert Zemekis)
3. Flushed Away (Kate Winslet, rats in London finding themselves)
4. Hoodwinked (a private detective story investigating Little Red Riding Hood, I
want to date the animated Little Red Riding Hood
5. Cars (Pixar)
6. Happy Feet (an entire movie about singing and dancing penguins)
7. The Ant Bully (Nicolas Cage and Julia Roberts playing ants getting back at a
kid who shoots a squirt gun)
8. Open Season (animals trying not to get shot by hunters)
9. Over the Hedge (based on a syndicated comic strip I hate)

Some day the news and forum links will be sexier, but right now they are simply functional.  There will be news here.  Hopefully that was obvious.  Skates and I are trying to keep up with writing reviews.  So far we are pretty bad at the one a week theory.

Pardon our laziness.  Updates are on the way.  One of these updates will include the terrible addition of a forum devoted to this site and the discussion of movies.  I'm sure you will all behave yourselves appropriately on the forum, and not, let's just say hypothetically, act like a bunch of 9 year old assholes on a power trip.

Things are a little rough at the moment.  There will be cleanup and other general improvements as things progress.  Many hugs and thanks to Melissa Rhyner for all the work she did getting this page put together.
