HAILEY FORMERLY OF JERRY HAS NO SKATES AND WICKER |
| This
project was born out of a general lack-of-job boredom and an enjoyment
of talking about films with Ryan Hailey. The goal I suppose is to increase
the frequency of these discussions and to share them with the Smith7 viewing
public for further input. I also suppose that I should briefly explain
why my opinion of movies should be of any more value to anyone than say
the opinion of an outspoken stone. The only real “credentials”
I have are a love for an ornate and overly verbose use of the English language
and a college degree in filmmaking. The latter of these two would imply
that I am quite less intelligent than the afore mentioned stone, but does
empower me with a certain insight that your average citizen does not posses
about the world of filmmaking. To introduce those of you who don’t know my taste in films to my tastes here is a list of a few films that I would consider my favorites followed by a list of films I would consider as a ready alternative to putting my finger down my throat to induce vomiting if I were to have swallowed some unwanted foreign substance. |
Hello.
My name is Ryan Hailey. I like movies very much. If I had a choice to
actually experience something really cool or to watch a movie about someone
else experiencing that really cool thing, I would choose to watch the
movie. I
think all of life’s problems and worries can be solved by watching
movies.
Movies are a very personal experience for everyone; it’s understandable
why
reviews of movies differ so greatly from person to person. So in essence,
there’s no real reason why you should read my review. I just graduated
high
school. I am going to film school, but other than watching movies, I have
no
formal education about them. But anyone who says movies are a waste of
time or
are pointless is dumb. Because there’s nothing better than watching
a truly
great movie. Just read my review because I think it will be helpful.
In some
ways the following list of movies represents my taste in movies.
In other ways it doesn't represent my taste at all. |
